With the birth of her first child just around the corner in October, Diana Wood will be relinquishing her role as the Executive Officer of the MGBCS on the 10th of September 2010.
Diana will be reducing her work for the MGBCS to two days per week until September 10th 2011. Diana’s reduced role will see her focus on managing the MGBCS accounts and promotional activities such as continuing to produce the Annual and Grey Country Magazines, the monthly Newsletters, maintenance of the web site and development of any promotional material as instructed.
Filling in the role of Executive Officer for twelve months will be David McDonald.
David comes from a mixed farming background (including beef cattle) at Orange and graduated with honours in Rural Science in 1975. He has been employed with ABRI since May, 1976. During this time he has undertaken a number of roles including running ABRI’s financial benchmarking service, being the market operator for New England Livestock Computer Marketing (NELCM) which was the forerunner to CALM turning over $1M per month, executive officer of many small to medium sized breed societies over a period of 25 years and adviser to a range of breeds in ABRI’s Breed Secretariat Division.
David has spent many years working on breed society administration, constitutional issues, accounting and meeting procedures and will be an asset to the MGBCS.
David does have other commitments September 27 - October 9, 2010. During this time Adele will be handling all enquiries.
From September 11th 2011, it is envisaged that Diana will return to work three days per week as the Executive Officer with her focus to be on Executive Officer issues, as well as the roles she will be completing following the birth of her child.
Adele Potgieter will continue in her role as registrar and member services officer. The high-level administration that Diana currently does will be allocated to Adele and it is envisaged that Adele will continue with this post September 2011.
From September 11th 2010, Adele will be the first point of contact for all MGBCS members.  | | | Contact David for:
