Standing next to his Murray Grey heifer Sheeny six-year-old Leo Larsen may look small but the Tenterfield youngster is a big cattleman at heart.
With Sheeny by his side, little Leo came second in the under-10 years class of paraders in the stud cattle section of the Stanthorpe Show on Saturday.
The outgoing youngster has been showing cattle for Sixpence Park Limousin and Murray Grey stud in Tenterfield for the past two years.
Leo, who is a student at St Joseph’s School, in Tenterfield, said showing cattle was exciting.
“I like showing Sheeny – when I walk behind her she doesn’t kick,” he said.
“I’ve showed a few other cows as well.”
There were plenty of success stories around the grounds at Stanthorpe for a number of local stud cattle exhibitors.
