RNA Paddock to Palate Competition presented by Mort & Co

$46,000 prize pool

There is less than a week left to enter the nation’s richest beef competition.

Entries for the RNA’s popular Paddock to Palate Competition, presented by Mort & Co, close next Friday, February 5.

Due to the competition’s popularity, entry numbers have been capped and producers are urged to enter now to ensure they don’t miss out.

Now in its nineteenth year, the competition attracts the nation’s top beef producers who get the chance to showcase their high quality stock.

The competition is part of the RNA’s commitment to celebrate and champion agriculture by recognising industry excellence and encouraging consumer promotion.

The Competition is now 3 phased:

  • 1st Phase; Class 37 – 100 day Feedlot Competition and Class 38 – 70 day Feedlot Competition;  for best aggregate weight gain for a Pen of 6 Steers
  • 2nd Phase; Carcase Competition for best aggregate Pen
  • 3rd Phase; MSA Eating Quality Competition, where MSA grading models predict eating quality of 40 muscles by 6 different methods

Maximum of 3 entries/pens per class per exhibitor. All entries to consist of a pen of 7 steers, with the best 6 being judged in the competition.
