Passing of Life Member Malcolm MacDonald
March 22, 2017We are sad to announce the passing of the great Malcolm MacDonald, a beloved family member of the Rowe family and a well-respected member of the South Australian agricultural industry.
For 50 years Malcolm was the dedicated General Manager of the Willalooka Pastoral Company, with the support of his wife Alison, they developed the property from a 2 024 hectare scrub block to a productive 11 000 hectares, combining six properties. Willalooka in the upper South East of South Australia through the dedication of Malcolm, became home to one of South Australia’s leading Murray Grey, Angus, Black Simmental Studs as well as a fine wool Merino stud. Malcolm worked closely with Simon and Bob Rowe as the original source of Princess Royal’s Angus breeding genetics.
Malcolm retired as General Manager in June 2008 at the commendable age of 76 and moved to Naracoorte with his wife where he spent time with both family and friends.
You will be sorely missed Malcolm.
