RNA Paddock to Palate Competition
Producers have the chance to cash in on more than $46,000 in prize money by entering the RNA Paddock to Palate Competition presented by Mort & Co – the richest beef competition of its kind in Australia. Now in its nineteenth year, prize money has increased from $7,000 in 2014 to a whopping $46,000 in 2016.
The Competition is now 3 phased:
- 1st Phase; Class 37 – 100 day Feedlot Competition and Class 38 – 70 day Feedlot Competition; for best aggregate weight gain for a Pen of 6 Steers
- 2nd Phase; Carcase Competition for best aggregate Pen
- 3rd Phase; MSA Eating Quality Competition, where MSA grading models predict eating quality of 40 muscles by 6 different methods
Maximum of 3 entries/pens per class per exhibitor. All entries to consist of a pen of 7 steers, with the best 6 being judged in the competition.
