Murray Grey steer takes out the highest MSA Index for eating quality!

BREAKING NEWS!! 🚨
A Murray Grey steer has achieved an extraordinary result at the Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza, taking out the highest MSA Index for eating quality in the competition!
Congratulations to David Lawson on an outstanding MSA Index of 68.74 with a Murray Grey carcase – an exceptional result that puts this steer in the history books.
To put the achievement into perspective, this is the second-highest MSA Index recorded across the past 10 years of the Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza, a competition that has attracted more than 3,000 entries over that time. The National Average for MSA index currently sits around 57.5.
That’s an incredible result and a powerful demonstration of what the Murray Grey breed can deliver where it matters most – eating quality!!
We’re more than a little bit excited and incredibly proud to see the mighty Murray Grey recognised at this level!
A big thank you to the Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza organisers, sponsors and everyone involved in delivering an event that provides such a valuable platform to showcase the quality of Australian beef cattle and the results of our industry’s breeding programs.
Congratulations David Lawson – what a result!
And congratulations to all other Murray Grey exhibitors – there were some wonderful results for our amazing breed, and we look forward to sharing an update once full results are released.
