Spectacular Murray Grey steers at Dubbo

Waroona Murray Grey Stud showed off their commercial side at the 2011 NSW Beef Spectacular in Dubbo taking out the overall Reserve Champion pen of three steers with purebred Murray Grey steers.

The steers, all by Waroona Hercules Y11 placed second for pen of trade steers on the hook and went on to claim Reserve Champion on the hook with a total of 235 points.

This pen had live weights of 430, 400 and 400kg, carcase weights of 249.5, 237 and 230.5, and dressed at an average 58.3%. They scored full points for fat coverage, and had EMAs of 77, 72 and 60cm2.

Waroona Murray Grey Stud, also exhibited a Murray Grey steer by Waroona Hercules Y11, to third in his carcase class for trade steers. A 420kg live weight Murray Grey Limousin cross steer, exhibited by the Carlinga Murray Grey Stud, placed second in the same carcase class and received a third place on the hoof.

Coolah Central School, exhibited a Murray Grey Limousin cross to third on the hoof in the Export Section.
